Ambassadors Ignite LVC!

On Monday, June 4, Las Vegas College held its first Ambassador program meeting. Students who were invited by Tim Hallam, the Academic Dean, came together to help make this school rock. The role of an Ambassador is to mainly two fold. One - be a positive role model. We all need someone to look up to and talk to when times get tough. The Ambassadors are here for you! Two - be a liaison between students and staff. Now, this doesn't mean you can't go directly to a chairperson or the dean with an issue. We are not closing off lines of communications; we are adding one.

The Ambassadors are already busy. They have been making class visits, introducing themselves, and surveying students. The survey focuses on the students who currently ride the bus here. More details on this project will follow. Ambassadors are also coming up with exciting ideas for student events, so keep those eyes peeled.

Want to be an ambassador? Here's how - be a good student, help other students when you can, demonstrate your leadership skills, and attend class regularly! We'll be watching! If you feel that you demonstrate these abilities already, talk to the Dean, Toni Heuer, your department chair or me!
