Student Awards!
Thursday, August 30 is Student Awards Day!
The ceremony will be at 9:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. in room 7
and refreshments will follow in the student lounge.
Who's getting an award? Students who earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher
during the Spring term (April-July)
or had perfect attendance.

Report Cards!

All report cards that have not been picked up yet have been filed into the student mailboxes. You have until Aug. 27 to submit a grade dispute to the Dean.

Other news:
On Friday, Aug. 10, Bart Battiste left Las Vegas College to pursue a career as a teacher. On Monday, Aug. 13, Toni Heuer became our new Director of Career Services. Her office will move to the first floor (behind the reception desk) as of Aug. 20. All online students don't worry. She is not abandoning you! Toni will pull double duty for awhile to make sure you are successful. Her email is the same - aheuer@cci.edu - but her new extention is X117.

Welcome, Lincoln College Students!
Calling all LVC students - on Monday, Aug. 13 at noon, a couple of dozen students from the soon to be closed Lincoln College are coming by to check us out.
Please join us in the halls, and lobbies at noon to help make them feel welcomed.
Changing schools is never easy; many of you have been there (so have I).
Let show them this change is going to be great!

The Blog is Back!
After 2 weeks, the Las Vegas College blog is back in action!
Since my last post, we have a new Chair of Criminal Justice - Welcome back Pat Koehler!
The Ambassadors had their first event - root beer floats. I hope you all enjoyed the ice cream. They have begun planning their next activity - bowling. On the orange sign up sheets, please indicate the number of people you are planning on bringing (family is welcome) on the day that is most convenient for you.
